This delicious stuffed French Toast recipe is an easy breakfast your whole family will love!

  • 4 oz. plain cream cheese or sweetened cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam or preserves
  • 1 (12-oz.) sourdough loaf or French baguette, cut into 24 slices
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • Orange zest (optional)
  • Maple syrup and fresh strawberries or other fresh fruit

  1. Spread softened cream cheese and jam evenly over 1 half of 12 bread slices; top with remaining bread slices.
  2. Arrange in a 13- x 9-inch shallow dish.
  3. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, sugar, and orange zest, as desired in a medium bowl. Pour egg mixture over bread slices. Cover, and refrigerate at least 8 hours to allow milk mixture to soak into each slice of bread.
  4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  5. Bake until set and golden brown, about 45 minutes. Let stand 2-3 minutes. Slice with a sharp knife, and serve with maple syrup and fresh berries. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
