This delicious stuffed French Toast recipe has a sweet cream cheese filling and is a wonderful twist on classic French toast. It’s one of those easy breakfasts your whole family will love!

What I love about this easy recipe for Stuffed French Toast:
French toast is one of my favorite things to eat as a special breakfast, but I don’t always love standing over the stove to make it. This recipe is the best way to have a make-ahead brunch recipe yummy enough for special occasions.
Frequently Asked Questions about this Stuffed French Toast recipe:
Can I use Texas toast or brioche bread in place of the sourdough?
Yes. These would be excellent substitutes if you tend to like your French toast on the softer side. Typically we think of stale bread or day-old bread as being the best bread for French toast. But in this recipe, which is more like a French toast casserole, most any bread will work. The overnight soak ensures that all of the pieces of bread are full of the egg mixture.
Can I use gluten-free bread in this recipe?
Yes, but depending on the size of the bread, you may have to use more slices.
If I don’t like cream cheese, is there something else I could substitute?
Try peanut butter!
