Dietitian Insight
Pumpkin isn’t just for pumpkin bread and lattes. It’s a rich source of vitamin A and beta-carotene. Using pure pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling or pumpkin pie mix) gives you those nutrients without added sugars or fats. The combination of warm spices like cinnamon and the creamy cream cheese mixture adds comfort and satisfaction without over-indulgence.
Storage Tips
Once cooled, store in an airtight container, wrapped in aluminum foil or storage wrap for freshness. This bread keeps well refrigerated up to 4 to 5 days.
Baking Tips for Best Results
- Use room temperature cream cheese for a smooth, even cream cheese ribbon.
- Use an oven thermometer to ensure your oven truly reaches 375°F. Accurate temperature makes all the difference for a golden, flaky crust.
- If you want to play around next time, try a drizzle of maple syrup over the top or stir a bit of sour cream or Greek yogurt into the filling for extra tang.
Serving Suggestions
Enjoy this bread warm from the oven with a cup of coffee or tea. It makes a wonderful addition to a fall breakfast spread or holiday dessert table.
