These Pecan Praline Brownies feature chewy brownies topped with a praline frosting. It is the sweet combo you didn’t know you needed, but you’ll love!
Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup (4 oz.) melted butter
- 2 tablespoons tap water
- 1 (18-oz.) double chocolate premium brownie mix box (I used ALDI Specially Selected)
- 1/2 cup pecan pieces
- 1/4 cup (2 oz.) butter
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a square baking pan or dish with parchment paper leaving a 1-inch overhang on 2 sides of the pan; set aside prepared baking pan.
- Stir together brownie mix, eggs, butter, and water in a medium bowl until smooth. Pour brownie batter into prepared pan, spreading to edges.
- Bake, uncovered, until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out with a few moist crumbs, 30-35 minutes. (Cooking time may vary depending on brand of brownie mix.)
- Remove brownies from oven; sprinkle top of the brownies with an even layer of pecans, and set aside.
- Melt butter (1/4 cup) in a medium saucepan over low heat; stir in brown sugar and milk. Bring to a boil over medium-high, and boil 1 minute. Remove from heat.
- Whisk in vanilla and powdered sugar to brown sugar mixture in saucepan. Working quickly, carefully pour evenly over top of brownies. (Mixture will be very hot)
- Place brownies on a wire rack, and let stand at room temperature until completely cool, about 2 hours.
- Using parchment paper overhang, lift cooled brownies from pan, and cut into squares using a sharp knife. Store leftovers in an airtight container or wrap tightly in plastic wrap.
