Super Easy Gluten-Free Danish Recipe
This easy Gluten-Free Danish Recipe uses flaky puff pastry and a creamy cheese filling for bakery-style results without complicated ingredients.

If you’ve been missing the buttery, flaky pastry layers of traditional Danish pastries since going gluten-free, this Gluten-Free Danish Recipe will feel like a small miracle in your kitchen. There’s nothing quite like a freshly baked pastry filled with a creamy cheese filling and topped with sweet fruit jam — and this version delivers all the indulgence without the gluten.
The Secret to the Best Gluten-Free Pastry
Creating a gluten-free pastry recipe that’s tender and golden without complicated ingredients or endless steps can seem impossible. But this recipe, featuring Sweet Loren’s gluten-free puff pastry, takes the guesswork out of the process. You’ll find it in the refrigerated section of your local grocery store, ready to use.
Unlike homemade gluten-free dough that often calls for a flour mixture of white rice flour, tapioca flour, and corn starch (sometimes even a bit of guar gum or extra flour for structure), this ready-to-use free dough gives you that perfect flaky pastry texture — no need for a stand mixer, rolling pin, or floured work surface.
Creamy, Dreamy Cheese Filling
The rich, slightly tangy gluten-free cheese filling is what makes this Danish irresistible. It’s a simple blend of cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla, all whipped together until smooth. For a little something extra, you can add a splash of almond extract for a bakery-style touch.
Once your pastry is laid out on a piece of parchment paper, spoon the filling down the middle and top it with your favorite fruit purees or jams. Then comes the fun part — the braiding technique that makes these look so impressive.
Baking the Perfect Gluten-Free Danish
Before baking, you can brush the top with a quick egg wash made from large egg yolks and a splash of milk for shine, or stick with the heavy cream in the recipe. Both create a golden finish that makes your free Danish pastries look as good as they taste.
The result is a beautifully golden, freshly baked pastry that’s crisp on the outside, tender in the middle, and filled with that luscious creamy cheese filling.
