5 Ingredient Flourless Brownies
Looking to make super fudgy brownies with just a few simple ingredients? These 5 Ingredient Flourless Brownies are full of rich chocolate flavor, fudgy texture, and couldn’t be any easier!

When I’m looking for a great recipe to satisfy my sweet tooth, I’m always looking to use a simple recipe.
Often times that means using a boxed mix.
There. I said it.
I don’t think there’s any shame in using a boxed brownie mix, especially when brands like King Arthur Flour and ALDI make such good boxed brownies.
But boxed mixes tend to make somewhat cakey brownies. To get fudgy chocolate brownies, I find that a flourless recipe works really well. The lack of flour yields delicious flourless brownies that are hard to put down.
You’ll notice that this recipe is called “5-Ingredient Flourless Brownies” but you can quickly count more than 5 in the handful of ingredients listed in the recipe below.
I don’t count salt as an ingredient since every kitchen will always have it on hand. And the Glaze is absolutely optional. Adding it arguably makes these look like more decadent brownies, but you’ll love them equally as well if you omit the Glaze. (And for that matter a 7 ingredient flourless brownie recipe doesn’t sound all that intimidating either!)

5 Ingredient Flourless Brownies
- Total Time: 2 hours, 40 min [includes 2 hours cooling time]
- Yield: 16 brownies
- Diet: Gluten Free
Description
These 5 Ingredient Flourless Brownies are a simple way to stir up a pan full of very rich, fudgy brownies.
Ingredients
BROWNIES
- 3/4 cup (6 oz.) salted butter, sliced
- 6 oz. unsweetened chocolate, broken into pieces (such as Baker’s chocolate bar)
- 4 large whole eggs*
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- Pinch of salt (optional)
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
GLAZE (optional)
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 Tbsp. heavy whipping cream
Instructions
- Prepare the Brownies: preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line bottom of an 8-inch square baking pan with with parchment paper, leaving a 2-inch overhang on 2 sides. Coat bottom with cooking spray.
- Place butter and 6 oz. chopped chocolate in a microwave-safe large bowl. Microwave on HIGH in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until mixture is melted and smooth, 2 to 3 minutes. Let cool slightly, about 5 minutes.
- Whisk together eggs, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl until well combined. Slowly pour melted chocolate mixture into egg mixture, whisking constantly until smooth. Add cocoa; whisk until combined. Pour brownie batter into prepared pan.
- Bake brownies in preheated oven until middle of the brownies is set, about 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, if desired, prepare the Glaze using remaining ingredients: place chocolate chips and cream in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH 30-seconds, stirring until mixture is melted and smooth.
- Remove brownies from oven. Carefully pour melted chocolate over top of brownies and smooth to edges. Let brownies cool completely in pan, about 2 hours. Carefully lift out whole pan of brownies using parchment paper overhang before cutting. Store leftover brownies in an airtight container.
